"The Mistress Chair"

My latest "professional" project was a chair for an exhibition called "Kropsholder". The exhibition is a tribute to the female designers who made the way for todays new female designers. We are 18 designers from scandinavia who each has a specific role, my role was "The Mistress".

The design is ment to challange our perception of the mistress. We often think she´s evil and full of destruction. But have you ever try to see it from her side?
The colors used in the chair is a symbol of the mistress's  feelings.. In love, full of hope and dreams <3

Home made pillowcase from tea towels

I bought two different "by nord" tea towels a while ago, because I thought they where so cool. One with a wolf print on and one with a moose print. But I have never used them due to the fact that they simply where to nice. So yesterday I was quite tired of looking at them, just hiding in a pile of tea towels. I thought to myself that I need to use them for a purpose where I can look at them - and be happy!
Then the idea came to me.. Why not make pillow cases of the tea towels?! And so I did..

Here is the finished pillowcases. Turned out pretty good, right? :)
The best part is that my boyfriend also loved them, they are not too feminine.

The moose-print continues on the back side of the pillowcase.

The pillowcase seen from the back side. Nice wooden buttons is a must on such a nordic look.

An idea for a DIY project..

If you love the "re-designed"look on furnitures - which is quite hot right now (!) than this is the perfect idea for a beginner project.

Below you see a picture of before and after two stools are re-newed. I came over these cute twin-stools when I visited a dear friend of mine a weak ago. She has a really nice home, where the style is feminine with a twist of nostalgia and romance. She has created a beautiful, cozy and relaxing apartment out of a small plan.

At some point I´m going to make a blog post with an interview about her style, how she has decorated a small apartment with balance and also (IMPORTANT) how to make the boyfriend accept the feminine style at home. This is a common problem for us girls who love a feminine, romantic and cozy home!!
Im my home I have to compromise and balance a lot to get my boyfriends approval, and often that messes up the style and kills the ideas. We have to find a way around this issue....
